Rachel Nuñez is a yoga teacher, dancer and dance teacher based in Queens. Originally from Stowe, Vermont, Rachel graduated with a B.A. in Dance and Sociology from Middlebury College. She moved to New York in 2014 to pursue a career as a professional dancer, and currently resides in Astoria with her adorable puppy, Brock.
Rachel completed her 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training through YogaWorks, and currently teaches yoga at Jai Yoga Arts in Bushwick and at New York Yoga on the Upper East Side. She is also fortunate to spend much of her time teaching kids dance and yoga classes throughout the city and beyond, sharing her love of movement with students of all ages. She is also the co-founder of re:treat, a yoga retreat created to make destination-yoga affordable and accessible to a younger demographic. In addition to teaching yoga and dance, Rachel works and performs regularly with Machine H Dance and Mark Lamb Dance.
As a mover and a teacher, Rachel is interested in questioning and testing movement habits and postural patterns that develop over time. She is invested in the study and practice of dance and yoga, not only as a way to strengthen and condition the body, but as a means of tuning into the physical and emotional self to promote wellness, resilience, self-reliance and peace.
